Aspen Fire is hosting a movie night at the Wheeler on June 20, 2023 at 7:30 PM. We will be screening Elemental: Reimagine Wildfire, to help our community understand the reality of living with wildfires, the challenges firefighters are facing, and solutions for residents in high-wildfire risk areas. What: Cinco De Mayo Wildfire Preparedness Party

Where: 420 E. Hopkins Ave (downtown fire station)

When: May 5, 2023 from 4 - 6PM

 

Thank you for joining us for our second annual Ready, Set, Go! event to get ready for wildfire season. We hope you learned something about how you can reduce your wildfire risk and prepare in case of an emergency. Thank you to Mi Chola for providing chips and salsa, and to Aspen Tap for distributing beer.

This FAMILY FRIENDLY event featured AFPD firefighters, volunteers from the NoFloCo wildfire mitigation task force, and representatives from the US Forest Service and Red Cross.

Smokey Bear and Sparky the Fire Dog both made an appearance!

Ready, Set, GO! May 2022

May 18, 2022 — May is Wildfire Awareness Month, and there are plenty of proactive steps you can take to help keep your family safe. Community members learned about wildfire mitigation, preparedness, and evacuation at our family friendly "Ready, Set, Go!" event. Thanks to our community partners: the UCR Interagency Fire Management Unit, Pitkin County Emergency Management, and American Red Cross.
